Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information NonOrdinary, a Massachusetts limited liability company doing business as Alive Edges (“Alive Edges,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects when you use aliveedges.com and our memberships, programs, trainings, calls, and community (the “Services”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

We collect only what we need to run a membership community well. We do not sell your personal information.

1. Who Is Responsible for Your Information

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you give us.

  • Account and checkout information: your name, email address, username, password (stored in encrypted form), and billing address.
  • Profile information: anything you add to your member profile, such as a photo, bio, location, interests, and your openness-to-contact status.
  • Community content: posts, comments, messages, group activity, and anything else you share in member spaces.
  • Participation in sessions: your display name, image, voice, and chat contributions in calls and trainings, including recordings as described in Section 4.
  • Communications: emails, support requests, form submissions, and feedback you send us.
  • Affiliate information: if you join our affiliate program, your payout details and the information needed to track and pay commissions.

2.2 Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your full card number is entered directly with Stripe and is never stored on our website. We receive limited information from Stripe, such as the card type, last four digits, expiration date, and payment status.

2.3 Information collected automatically.

  • Membership and activity records: your subscriptions, payments, logins, the trainings and content you access, your progress and tracking history, and similar activity in the Services.
  • Technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and dates and times of access, collected through server logs and cookies.
  • Email engagement: whether our emails are delivered, opened, or clicked.
  • Referral information: if you arrive through an affiliate’s link, which affiliate referred you.

2.4 Sensitive information. We do not ask you for sensitive information such as health details, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, or similar personal matters. Some members choose to share personal experiences in community spaces or sessions. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing in that setting, and keep sensitive personal matters for unrecorded sessions such as Untangling sessions.

3. How We Use Your Information and Why

We use your information for the purposes below. For members in the European Union, European Economic Area, and United Kingdom, we also list the legal basis we rely on.

  • To provide your membership: creating your account, giving you access to member content, calls, and community spaces, processing payments, renewals, pauses, cancellations, and refunds, and sending service emails such as receipts and renewal notices. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
  • To run the community: displaying your profile and posts to other members, enforcing our Terms and Conditions and community standards, and keeping the Services safe. Legal basis: contract and our legitimate interest in a safe, well-run community.
  • To record sessions and provide replays: see Section 4. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing replays to members.
  • To send updates and offers by email: news, new programs, and events. Legal basis: your consent where the law requires it, or our legitimate interest in telling members about related offerings. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To run our affiliate program: tracking referrals and paying commissions. Legal basis: contract with affiliates and our legitimate interest in crediting referrals accurately.
  • To improve the Services: understanding which content and features are used so we can make them better. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
  • To protect security and prevent fraud: detecting misuse, account sharing, payment fraud, and technical problems. Legal basis: legitimate interest and legal obligation.
  • To meet legal obligations: tax, accounting, and responding to lawful requests. Legal basis: legal obligation.

Where we rely on legitimate interest, we have weighed our interest against your rights, and you can object as described in Section 9.

4. Session Recordings

Sessions are recorded by default unless a session’s listing states that it will not be recorded. Untangling sessions are not recorded. Recordings may include your display name, image, voice, and chat contributions. Recordings are made available to members, and are shared publicly only when a session’s listing says so. We will not use identifiable clips from a members-only recording in public advertising or promotion without your permission.

You can limit your appearance by keeping your camera off, using a first name or other display name, and not speaking during recorded portions. If you object to a recording in which you appear, write to [email protected] and we will consider your request in line with applicable law. Full details are in Section 6 of our Terms and Conditions.

5. What Other Members Can See

Your profile, posts, comments, and group activity are visible to other logged-in members, and your participation in sessions is visible to others attending. Member spaces are not visible to the public. Private messages are visible to the people you send them to. We ask members to keep what others share confidential, but we cannot guarantee that every member will.

6. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only as described here.

6.1 Service providers. We use trusted companies to run the Services. They process information on our behalf and only for that purpose:

  • Stripe: payment processing.
  • ActiveCampaign: email delivery, member communications, and marketing email, connected to our website through WP Fusion.
  • Zoom: live calls and trainings.
  • Concierge Cloud: website hosting and storage.
  • Microsoft 365: business email and documents.
  • Google Analytics: website usage statistics.

Our membership, community, forms, and affiliate features (MemberPress, BuddyBoss, Fluent Forms, and AffiliateWP) run on our own website, so information you enter there stays on our servers.

6.2 Affiliates. If an affiliate referred you, that affiliate may see that a referral occurred and the commission amount. Affiliates do not receive your payment details.

6.3 Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe in good faith it is needed to protect the safety or rights of a person, our members, or Alive Edges.

6.4 Business transfers. If Alive Edges is involved in a merger, sale, or reorganization, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

7. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use:

  • Essential cookies: to keep you logged in, process checkout, and keep the site secure. These are required for the Services to work.
  • Referral cookies: to record which affiliate, if any, referred you.
  • Analytics and email-tracking cookies: to understand how the site is used and which emails are helpful.

Where the law requires it, including for visitors in Europe and the United Kingdom, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the Services may not work without essential cookies.

8. How Long We Keep Information

  • Account and profile information: while your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward in case you return, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
  • Payment and transaction records: for as long as tax and accounting laws require, generally seven years.
  • Community content: while your account is active. When an account is deleted, we delete or anonymize its content, except where it forms part of another member’s thread and removing it would be impractical, in which case we remove your name from it.
  • Session recordings: for as long as they remain useful to members. We review recordings periodically and remove those no longer needed.
  • Marketing email records: until you unsubscribe, and afterward only as needed to honor your unsubscribe request.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • know what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • restrict or object to certain uses, including uses based on our legitimate interests, such as recordings;
  • receive your information in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent where we rely on consent, without affecting earlier use; and
  • complain to a data-protection authority in your country.

To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. We will respond within one month, or sooner if your local law requires. We will not treat you differently for using your privacy rights.

Email choices. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email. You will still receive essential account and billing emails while you are a member.

Your profile. You can update most profile information yourself from your account at any time.

10. International Transfers

Alive Edges is based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. If you are in Europe or the United Kingdom, your information will be transferred to the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses used by our service providers.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, encrypted password storage, access controls, and payment processing through Stripe. No online service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.

12. Age Requirement

The Services are for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date. If a change is significant, we will notify members by email before it takes effect.
